Trek Rumors: Denied!

I have to say, a film starring all three Trek captains in a mirror universe sounds far more intriguing to me than a script ALREADY getting mixed reviews. Another mediocre performance by a Trek flick could be the last nail in the proverbial coffin for the historic sci-fi universe. Shatner fans are sure to be disappointed to hear he may not be making a return to the universe after all, but they can at least drown their sorrows in a collection of really great sci-fi flicks specially chosen by the man himself for distribution by his hot new DVD club –and of course there is the upcoming Free Enterprise sequel, as well.

William Shatner has an official DVD Club!

Captain James T. Kirk himself, picking out all the obscure sci-fi DVDs you never even knew you needed to see! The DVD club is one of those “DVD-a-month” type clubs, showcasing “the best sci-fi movies that didn’t come to a theater near you”. Filmjerk reports that while many of the movies might not be household names, folks who have seen them really like them.

star wars bootleg - first accused pleaded guilty

Marc Hoaglin has just acheived the dubious honour of becoming the second person to be convicted on charges of illegally distributing a film online. Hoaglin, 36, pleaded guilty yesterday in Los Angeles court to posting a digital copy of Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith for illegal download, one day before the film opened in North American theaters.

cinematical
Hoaglin admitted that he had received a pre-release copy of the Star Wars film from Albert Valente, who had allegedly taken it from a post-production company that was working on the film for Lucasfilm, its producer.
imdb
Hoaglin is one of the first Americans to be prosecuted under a new law, called the Family Entertainment and Copyright Act, that President Bush signed in April

Next Star Trek Movie: ‘encouraging’ gossip

The current script – I ASSUME ‘ONE’ OF MANY - apparently has events set in what is called a “Mirror” Universe. It will enable Trek actors past and present to play roles, including William Shatner. Apparently Shatner was in talks to do a guest role on Enterprise, but it didn’t work out. Why? Apparently he wanted a) more money b) would rather do Trek films. Solution? The ideas for the episode of the “Enterprise” episode he was going to do will now be incorporated into a movie. Yep, Captain kirk’s back - SOMEHOW. The actress wasn’t unsure of her involvement or her show’s cast’s involvement but said she “thinks” it’ll be Shatner, Captain Picard and maybe Archer.
